Our History

Quality and Service Since 1965

For over half a century, we have been dedicated to delivering unparalleled quality and service. Our journey began in 1965 in downtown Ferguson, MO, where we first opened our doors as a jewelry and optical establishment. Founded by Charles E. Vogel, a skilled optician who honed his craft in the civil service, our legacy took root.

Charles E. Vogel's expertise extended beyond conventional eyewear; he crafted eyeglasses for notable figures like President Eisenhower and General MacArthur. Impressively, he even tailored a pair for Eisenhower that matched the precise focal distance from tee to pin on the President's favorite golf course!

Remaining a family-owned and operated business, we proudly span three generations. Under the guidance of Charles M. Vogel, our expansion into Hazelwood, MO in 1997 marked a significant milestone.

Throughout our history, we've encountered and overcome challenges. From surviving a tornado and a fire to navigating riots and a global pandemic, our commitment to serving the communities of St. Louis and St. Charles counties has never wavered.

Our journey has seen us evolve from hand-edging glass lenses to embracing cutting-edge lens technology. Our opticians, esteemed and American Board of Opticianry certified, undergo rigorous training to provide optimal care.

Our unwavering commitment to our founding principle endures: every individual deserves personalized attention from skilled artisans, all at affordable prices. As we reflect on our storied past, we look forward to continuing our legacy of excellence for years to come.
